Keishi Pearls, also known as Keshi Pearls, Keshe Pearls, Cornflake Pearls and Petal Pearls, are created when the mollusc rejects the implanted nucleus but continues to secrete nacre. As the nacre has no object to coat, the pearl develops in a beautiful freeform shape resembling a flower petal. As Keishi Pearls are 100% nacre, they have absolutely stunning lustre making them one of the most valuable and coveted Pearl types. Keishi pearls are very rarely found in sizes greater than 8mm, making large size Keishi Pearls particularly desirable.
