A teardrop cut usually has a rounded base with a pointed top and is usually top cross drilled. Teardrop briolettes can be either faceted or have a smooth polished finish however a faceted finish is more usual. Heart BriolettesThis gemstone briolette type has the appearance of an upside down heart and is often approximately the same height and width. Heart briolettes are usually top cross drilled and can be either smooth or faceted with both finished being very popular. Heart cut briolettes tend to be smaller than other briolette types. Pear BriolettesThis type of briolette cut appears similar to the teardrop briolette cut however it has a flat profile. Similar to an elongated heart briolette, the pear briolette is ideal for designs sitting close to the skin due to have a flat side. Onion BriolettesThis briolette drop style is a shorter, plumper version of the classic teardrop briolette and is most often found in a faceted cut. Briolettes are usually top cross drilled allowing them to be threaded or wire wrapped very simply. Some of the briolettes we sell are undrilled and these can be set using adhesive and a bead cap.
